Nagpur: A 41-year-old man allegedly attacked his co-worker with a knife after the latter refused to give him kharra at a biryani centre in Kalamna area, police said.
The incident took place in the early hours of September 6 outside the National Biryani Centre near Kalamna Market. The accused, Rajkumar Hansraj Meshram (41), a native of Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh and currently working at the biryani centre, allegedly demanded kharra from his colleague Ajay Mangaluram Verma (45).
According to the complaint, Meshram refused to give him kharra, following which Verma allegedly abused him and attacked him with a knife, striking his chest and ear. Meshram sustained injuries and was subsequently treated at Mayo Hospital.
Kalamna police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) provisions mentioned in the complaint. Police said Verma has no previous criminal record and further investigation is underway.
