Nagpur: A 17-year-old girl has allegedly been sexually assaulted by two unidentified men in Koradi, with the survivor later discovering that she was five months pregnant, police said.
According to the complaint registered with Koradi police, the girl was staying in a rented accommodation, where she was attending classes at a private career academy.
The alleged incident took place on May 1 around 10.30 pm. The girl had reportedly gone out for a walk in the lane outside her house after dinner when two unidentified men riding a Hero Honda motorcycleapproached her. The duo allegedly had cloths covering their faces.
According to the complaint, one of the accused placed a cloth over the girl’s face, causing her to lose consciousness. The two men allegedly sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious and fled from the spot.
When she regained consciousness, she reportedly realised that she had been sexually assaulted. However, fearing the consequences, she did not tell her family about the incident.
Later, during a visit to her native place for Raksha Bandhan, she developed abdominal pain and sought treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur. Doctors reportedly informed her that she was five months pregnant.
Following her report, Koradi police registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police are investigating the case and attempting to identify the two accused.
