Nagpur: The city was left shaken on Thursday night after two separate murder cases reported from different parts of Nagpur claimed the lives of a woman and a notorious criminal within hours of each other, triggering intensive police investigations.

Super Speciality Hospital Worker Found Murdered in New Kamptee

In the first incident, the blood-soaked body of a woman was found on Gada-Shirpur Road under the New Kamptee Police Station limits. The victim had sustained multiple injuries caused by a sharp-edged weapon, indicating a brutal attack before her body was allegedly dumped by the roadside in an apparent bid to destroy evidence.

The deceased was identified as Bhagyashree Rajendra Rajak (42), a sanitation worker employed at the Government Super Speciality Hospital in Nagpur.

Preliminary investigations and local inputs have raised suspicion against the woman’s husband, and police are probing the case from that angle. A police team rushed to the spot after receiving information, conducted a spot inspection, prepared the panchnama and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

Police officials said the exact motive behind the murder is yet to be established and all angles are being investigated.

Notorious Criminal Hacked to Death in Bhandewadi

In another incident on the same night, Ganesh Pritamlal Borkar, a notorious criminal, was brutally murdered under the Bhandewadi Police Station limits.

The killing created panic in the locality, with police suspecting that the murder could have stemmed from a personal dispute or gang rivalry. However, no official confirmation regarding the motive has been made so far.

Police teams reached the scene, took custody of the body and initiated legal formalities. Investigators are examining CCTV footage and collecting technical evidence to identify those involved in the murder.

Senior police officers also visited both crime scenes, considering the sensitivity of the cases. Officials said investigations are progressing on multiple fronts and the perpetrators are expected to be traced soon.

The back-to-back murders have once again raised concerns over law and order in Nagpur, with residents demanding swift action and stricter policing to curb violent crimes in the city.
