Nagpur: A 23-year-old worker from Madhya Pradesh died after suffering an electric shock while drying his clothes at a warehouse in the MIDC area of Nagpur on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Panjilal Maravi (23), a resident of Chitra village, Kedarpur Post, Ghansaur tehsil, Seoni district, Madhya Pradesh.

According to police, Sandeep and his colleague Sangit Suresh Maravi (21) worked and stayed at the warehouse of Association Biscuit Company, located at Plot No. 18, behind Mahananda Milk Dairy, Hingna Road, MIDC, Nagpur.

At around 9 am on July 1, 2026, Sandeep had finished bathing and was attempting to hang his underwear on the grille of a room window to dry. During the process, he accidentally came into contact with an electrical board located near the window and suffered a severe electric shock.

He collapsed and became unconscious. Co-workers rushed him to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital, where doctors examined him and declared him dead.

Based on information provided by the complainant, Sub-Inspector Hemant Kokani of MIDC Police Station has registered an accidental death report (ADR). Further inquiry is underway.
