Nagpur: Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MAHA-METRO) has achieved a major milestone in the ongoing construction of the Nagpur Metro Phase-II project. The piling work at three important metro stations — Pili Nadi, All India Radio, and Lok Vihar on the Kamptee Road corridor — has been successfully completed.
As per official updates, a total of 148 out of 148 piles at Pili Nadi Station, 122 out of 122 piles at All India Radio Station, and 140 out of 140 piles at Lok Vihar Station have been completed, marking 100% completion of piling work at these sites.
The remaining work along this corridor, referred to as Reach-2A (Automotive Square to Kanhan), is progressing at a fast pace. Current construction progress on this stretch includes:
- 68% Pier Work Completed
- 77% Pile Cap Work Completed
- 40% Segment Casting Completed
- 26% Span Erection Completed
Expansion Overview: Nagpur Metro Phase-II
Phase-II of the Nagpur Metro project aims to extend connectivity to the suburban areas of the city. This phase covers a total length of 43.8 kilometers and includes 32 metro stations across four major routes:
Khapri to MIDC ESR (18.5 km, 10 stations)
- Eco Park, Metro City, Ashok Van, Dongargaon, Moghav, Meghdoot CIDCO, Butibori Police Station, MHADA Colony, MIDC KEC, MIDC ESR
Prajapati Nagar to Transport Nagar (5.6 km, 3 stations)
- Pardi, Kapshi Khurd, Transport Nagar
Automotive Square to Kanhan (13 km, 12 stations)
- Pili Nadi, Khasara Phata, All India Radio, Kheri Phata, Lok Vihar, Lekha Nagar, Cantonment, Kamptee Police Station, Golf Club, Kanhan River
Lokmanya Nagar to Hingna (6.7 km, 7 stations)
- Hingna Mount View, Rajiv Nagar, Wanadongri, APMC, Raipur, Hingna Bus Stand, Hingna
The completion of piling at these major stations is a significant step toward accelerating the execution of Nagpur Metro Phase-II. Once operational, the extended network will enhance last-mile connectivity, reduce traffic congestion, and promote sustainable urban mobility across Nagpur and its suburbs.
