Nagpur: The Crime Branch’s Anti-Vehicle Theft Squad has solved a vehicle theft case in Lakadganj police station limits and recovered a stolen two-wheeler worth ₹50,000.
According to police, complainant Saurabh Pramod Burade (27), a resident of Old Mangalwari, Rahate Hospital Road, Nagpur, had parked his Honda Activa (MH 31 ET 0883), valued at ₹15,000, outside his house between August 12 night and August 13 morning. An unidentified thief made away with the scooter, following which Lakadganj police registered a case.
Acting on technical inputs and reliable information, the Crime Branch detained accused Ritikraj Shyam Asopa (25), a resident of Shantiprakash Apartment, Lakadganj. During questioning, he confessed to the crime. Police recovered the stolen vehicle, valued at ₹50,000, from his possession.
The accused has been handed over to Lakadganj police for further investigation.
