Nagpur: Unidentified burglars targeted a locked house in Gittikhadan area and decamped with gold and silver ornaments worth around ₹5.52 lakh.

According to police, complainant Maheshwari Maroti Yewle (21), a resident of Swami Colony, Phase 1, Akarnagar, Gittikhadan, had locked her home and gone to stay overnight at Max Hospital, where her mother was admitted for treatment. Between August 17 evening and August 18 morning, unknown thieves broke the lock of the main door and gained entry.

They ransacked the bedroom cupboard and stole 110 grams of gold ornaments and 50 grams of silver jewellery, collectively valued at ₹5,52,500.

Based on the complaint, Gittikhadan police have registered a case under relevant sections of the BNS against unidentified accused. Further investigation is underway to trace the culprits.
