Nagpur: In an inspiring initiative, Beltarodi Police led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 4 Rashmita Rao, felicitated 20 meritorious students from Mahakali Nagar slum, located within Beltarodi Police Station limits, who overcame extreme socio-economic hardships to excel in the recently declared SSC and HSC examinations.
The students, many of whom come from families involved in manual labor and domestic work in upper-class households, demonstrated remarkable determination and dedication. Despite lacking proper facilities and resources, they secured outstanding academic results—setting a shining example for their community.
The felicitation ceremony took place in Mahakali Nagar itself on Monday, May 19, where the students reside. The key objective behind this initiative was to encourage these youth to pursue education and respectable careers while steering clear of criminal activities. By building a positive connection with law enforcement, the police hope to inspire these children to contribute meaningfully to society.
The event was conceptualized by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Rashmita Rao, and held under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ajni Division) Narendra Hiware. It was organized with the active support of Senior Police Inspector Mukund Kawade (Beltarodi Police Station), API (Crime) Rupali Bawankar, and other police personnel including PSI Pankaj Kakde, PSI Snehalata Jaybhaye, PSI Achyut Rindhe, constables Ravi Akre, Prashant Thawkar, Ajay Neware, and Nitin Bhonde.
Through this initiative, the Nagpur Police have sent a strong message about the power of education and community policing, aiming to foster trust and motivation among underprivileged youth.
