Major Burglary in Jaripatka: Thieves Steal Cash and Gold Worth Over Rs 10 Lakh

Nagpur: A major burglary has been reported under the Jaripatka Police Station limits in Nagpur, where unidentified thieves allegedly stole cash and gold ornaments worth more than Rs 10 lakh from a locked residence.


Police said the incident took place between 11:00 AM on May 10, 2026, and 3:30 PM on May 11, 2026, at Plot No. 27/28, LIG Housing Board Colony, K.K. Nagar, Jaripatka, Nagpur.


Complainant Vijay Chandulal Gidwani (47) had locked his house and gone on a family trip to Pench, Madhya Pradesh. During this period, unidentified burglars allegedly broke open the main door lock and latch before entering the residence.


The thieves reportedly stole Rs 5 lakh in cash along with various gold ornaments kept inside a wooden cupboard in the bedroom. The total value of the stolen property has been estimated at Rs 10.05 lakh.


Following the complaint, Jaripatka Police Sub-Inspector Sachin Khutwal registered a case against unknown accused under Sections 305, 331(3), and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.


Police are currently searching for the accused, and further investigation is underway.
