Nagpur: The Crime Branch Unit 3 of Nagpur Police has successfully solved a house burglary case registered under the Hudkeshwar Police Station limits. Two juveniles in conflict with law have been detained in connection with the theft.
According to police officials, between 8:00 PM on May 7, 2026, and 7:30 PM on May 8, 2026, complainant Milind Babnrao Waghmare (38), a tenant residing at Plot No. 76, Gajanan Nagar, Narsala Road, Nagpur, had locked his residence and travelled with his family to Chandrapur for a relative’s wedding ceremony.
During their absence, unidentified thieves allegedly broke the main door lock, entered the house, and stole silver ornaments and an Apple iPhone from an iron cupboard kept in the bedroom. The total value of the stolen property was estimated at Rs 33,500.
Based on the complaint, Hudkeshwar Police registered a case against unknown accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
During the parallel investigation, officers and personnel from Crime Branch Unit 3 carried out technical surveillance and laid a trap based on credible intelligence inputs. Two juveniles were taken into custody and, during questioning, confessed to committing the burglary.
Police recovered silver ornaments and an Apple mobile phone collectively valued at approximately Rs 70,000 from the juveniles. The accused minors, along with the seized property, have been handed over to Hudkeshwar Police for further legal action.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Nagpur Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Abhijeet Patil.
The team was led by Police Inspector Mahesh Sagde along with officers and staff of Crime Branch Unit 3. Further investigation is underway.
