Nagpur: A 32-year-old labourer died after accidentally falling from the fifth floor of an under-construction building in the Hudkeshwar area of Nagpur on Wednesday evening.

The incident took place around 5.45 pm on January 7, 2026, at Plot No. 59, Annapurna Nagar, Pipla, Hudkeshwar, at Kalavati Vihar Apartment. The deceased has been identified as Mahendra Radhelal Yadav (32), a native of Ugli village in Kevalari tehsil of Madhya Pradesh, who was currently residing on rent at Chakrapani Nagar, Nagpur.

Police said Yadav was engaged in labour work and was removing bricks from a lift on the fifth floor when he suddenly lost balance and fell down. He sustained serious injuries in the fall and was rushed to Medical Hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead upon examination.

Based on the information provided by the complainant Mithilesh Dindayal Patle (37), a native of the same village and residing in Nagpur, Hudkeshwar police registered an accidental death report (ADR) in the matter. PSI Pankajkumar Chakre recorded the accidental death. Further investigation is in progress.
