Nagpur: Crime Branch Unit 3 of Nagpur Police has successfully cracked a vehicle theft case registered at Wadi police station and arrested the accused, recovering the stolen motorcycle worth Rs 30,000.
The theft took place between 10.15 pm on November 3, 2025, and 12.30 am on November 4, 2025, in the Wadi police station limits. The complainant, Roshan Mahadeorao Patil (39), a resident of Daulatwadi, Wadi, had parked his Splendor motorcycle (MH-40 BN 6203) after locking it in an open space near Chandramani Chowk, Control Wadi, outside Chavan’s house, before leaving to attend a cultural programme. During this period, an unknown thief stole the two-wheeler.
Based on Patil’s complaint, Wadi police registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against an unidentified accused.
During parallel investigations, officers and personnel of Crime Branch Unit 3 were patrolling within Kotwali police station limits when they noticed a man moving suspiciously with a motorcycle. Upon being stopped and questioned, he identified himself as Akshay Shankar Bagde (30), a resident of Vaibhav Nagar near Venkatesh Gym, Dabha, Gittikhadan. During detailed interrogation and verification of vehicle documents, the accused confessed to stealing the motorcycle from Wadi.
Police seized the stolen vehicle valued at approximately Rs 30,000 from the accused. He has been handed over to Wadi police along with the seized property for further legal action. Further investigation is underway.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Additional Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijeet Patil, with active participation from PI Dnyaneshwar Bhedodkar and his team.
