Nagpur: Jaripatka Police have detected a house burglary case and arrested one accused, recovering stolen gold and silver jewellery along with cash worth lakhs of rupees.
The burglary occurred between 7:30 pm on January 18 and 9:45 am on January 19, 2026, under the jurisdiction of Jaripatka Police Station. The complainant, Narendra Nagorao Tale (34), who lives near Sonu Pan Stall opposite Ashok Grocery Store in Jaripatka, had locked his house and travelled with his family to stay at a relative’s home in Godhani, Mankapur.
Taking advantage of the family’s absence, an unidentified thief broke open the main door lock, entered the house, and forced open the locker inside a bedroom cupboard. The accused stole ₹1,00,000 in cash, 89 grams of gold jewellery, and 125 grams of silver ornaments, with the total value initially estimated at ₹5.5 lakh. Based on the complaint, Jaripatka Police registered a case against an unknown person under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Technical Investigation Leads to Breakthrough
During the investigation, the Jaripatka Police detection team used technical surveillance and reliable information to trace a suspect in the Vitabhatti area of Nara, from where he was detained.
The accused identified himself as Rahul alias Yeda Sevakram Dahare (23), a resident of Bazar Chowk, Deputy Signal area, Kalamna, Nagpur. A personal search conducted in the presence of independent witnesses led to the recovery of silver ornaments, including anklets and bangles, from his possession.
During detailed questioning, Rahul confessed to committing the burglary along with a juvenile accomplice. Police later recovered stolen gold and silver jewellery worth ₹7.78 lakh connected to the crime.
Accused Arrested, Further Investigation in Progress
Rahul Dahare has been arrested, and further investigation is underway to locate the juvenile involved and determine whether they were linked to other burglary cases in the city.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (North Region) Rajendra Dabhade, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Sandeep Pakhale (Zone 6), and Assistant Commissioner of Police Satyaveer Bandiwar (Jaripatka Division).
The team included Senior Police Inspector Anil Taksande, Assistant Police Inspector Ashish Morkhade, Jitendra Thakur, Head Constable Ramesh Yadav, and police personnel Mangesh Donadkar, Pankaj Varkade, Rakesh Singh, Nitesh Nagpure, Amol Harne, and Sachin Waghale.
