Nagpur: In a major crackdown on property crimes, Pardi Police have arrested a 21-year-old accused involved in multiple house break-ins and vehicle thefts, leading to the detection of seven offences across different police station limits in Nagpur.
The breakthrough came during the investigation of a house burglary reported from New Nagar in the Pardi area. According to police, between 5 pm on January 2 and 10 am on January 3, 2026, complainant Sheikh Afsar Sheikh Afzal (43), a resident of Plot No. 50, Bharatiya Lok Kalyan Society, New Nagar, Pardi, had locked his house and gone with his family to stay at his in-laws’ residence. During this period, an unidentified thief broke open the main door lock, entered the house, and stole ₹1.50 lakh in cash along with gold and silver jewellery from an iron cupboard in the bedroom. The total value of the stolen property was estimated at ₹3,33,400.
Based on the complaint, Pardi Police registered a case against an unknown accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
During the probe, the Pardi Police detection team used technical investigation methods and credible intelligence to detain the accused, identified as Tushar Suresh Bopche (21), a resident of Pawangaon near Hanuman Temple, Kalamna, Nagpur. During interrogation, he confessed to committing the burglary.
Further questioning revealed that Bopche was also involved in several other crimes. He admitted to committing one vehicle theft and two house break-ins within Pardi Police Station limits, two vehicle thefts in Shantinagar Police Station limits, and one vehicle theft in Pachpaoli Police Station limits — taking the total number of detected cases to seven.
Police have seized stolen property worth ₹2,67,910 from the accused. The recovered items include gold and silver ornaments, imitation jewellery, a Samsung mobile phone, a wristwatch, a leather school bag, old clothes, a white Honda Activa (MH-31-CW-4644), a motorcycle (MH-49-AY-4043), and a white TVS XL moped (MH-49-Z-1203).
Police said further investigation is underway to verify the accused’s involvement in additional offences.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (South Region) Shivajirao Rathod, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Niketan Kadam, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kalamna Division) Rohit Oval. The action was executed by Senior Police Inspector Sunilkumar Kakde and the Pardi Police detection team along with other officers and staff.
