Nagpur: A 44-year-old employee of EDM Adda Restaurant lost his life in a tragic road accident after his two-wheeler was hit by a speeding SUV on the Nagpur–Amravati Road early Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Uday Devraoji Mohite (44), a resident of House No. 93, Borgaon Road, Patel Nagar, Katol Road.

Accident Took Place While Returning Home

According to police sources, Uday had wrapped up his duties at EDM Adda and was heading home on his motorcycle (MH 31 CF 3064) around 2:30 AM on Monday. During the commute, a recklessly driven XUV (MH 27 DU 7342), allegedly driven by Marmik Vijay Raut (21), a resident of Imperial Heights, Vivekanand Colony, Amravati, rammed into his bike from behind.

The impact of the collision was severe, causing Uday to be thrown off the vehicle. He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Case Registered Against SUV Driver

Based on a complaint lodged by Ashok Damaji Pardi (52), another employee of EDM Adda—originally from Khurchipaar, Balaghat, and currently residing at the restaurant premises—police have registered a case under Sections 106(1) and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) against the accused driver.

Further investigation is underway.
