Nagpur: With cold winds sweeping across Vidarbha, Nagpur and its neighbouring districts have witnessed a significant drop in both maximum and minimum temperatures.
On Friday, February 7, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 17.2 degrees Celsius, marking a dip of 2.2 degrees, and a maximum temperature of 30.8 degrees Celsius, a drop of 3.9 degrees from earlier levels.
The sudden change in weather has brought much-needed relief to residents who were experiencing unusually warm conditions in early February. The chill has prompted citizens to bring out sweaters and jackets that had been packed away.
Weather Patterns Behind the Temperature Dip:
According to meteorologists, the sudden drop in temperature is attributed to cold winds from northern India reaching Vidarbha. This weather phenomenon is expected to persist for the next few days, keeping temperatures lower than average for this time of year.
Impact on Citizens and Daily Life:
Residents, who were earlier relying on fans due to unseasonably warm weather, have welcomed the winter-like conditions. Markets selling winter wear have seen a surge in customers, as people look to stock up on warm clothing. Morning walkers and joggers were also spotted donning extra layers to combat the chill.
