Nagpur: Bajaj Nagar Police have registered a case against an unidentified motorcyclist for causing a fatal accident that claimed the life of a 68-year-old man.

Police said that on August 5, 2025, around 7 pm, the victim, Dilip Ramji Date, a resident of Plot No. 203, Priyadarshini Nagar, Trust Layout, Trimurti Nagar, was walking from Mate Chowk towards Pratap Nagar Chowk when an unidentified two-wheeler rider, driving at high speed and in a reckless manner, hit him. The rider fled the scene, leaving Date seriously injured.

The injured man was first taken to Padole Hospital and later shifted to GMCH, where doctors declared him dead at 12:30 am on August 7.

Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s son, Swapnil Dilip Date (32), Bajaj Nagar Police registered an offence under Section 304(A) of the BNS against the unidentified motorcyclist. API Pawar is investigating the case.
