Nagpur: In a significant anti-corruption operation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Nagpur, caught a Chief Engineer of Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran (MJP) allegedly accepting a ₹30,000 bribe from a contractor for renewing a government license here, on Wednesday.
According to ACB officials, the complainant is a registered government contractor who had applied online for renewal of a work license under Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran and later submitted all required documents at the Regional Office in Nagpur.
The complaint alleged that Subhash Baban Bhujbal, Chief Engineer and Class-I officer at Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Regional Office, Nagpur, demanded ₹30,000 to process and approve the license renewal.
After receiving the complaint, the ACB conducted a verification process and confirmed the alleged demand. Officials said the accused officer agreed to personally receive the amount.
