Nagpur: Sitabuldi Police have registered a case against an unidentified conductor of a private travel bus for allegedly molesting a 21-year-old woman and attempting to sexually assault her during an overnight journey from Nagpur to Bidhiya.

According to the police complaint, the woman was travelling alone in a Vijayant Travels bus (MH 40 AK 6699) from Nagpur to Bidhiya on September 7. The bus was reportedly near the MP Bus Stand area when the incident occurred.

Police said the conductor allegedly took advantage of the woman travelling alone, touched and pressed her chest and allegedly held both her legs while attempting to forcibly assault her. The woman raised an alarm and subsequently approached the police.

Based on her complaint, Sitabuldi Police registered a case under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 354(A) of the relevant law, as mentioned in the police record.

The identity of the accused conductor was not known at the time of registration of the case, and no arrest had been made. Police are investigating the incident and attempting to identify the accused.
