Nagpur: Yashodhara Nagar Police have registered a case against a madrasa teacher for allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old student with a pipe at a madrasa in the Nizamuddin Colony area.
According to the police complaint, the minor, who studies at Darul Uloom Nizamia Madrasa, was allegedly beaten by the accused, identified as Maulana Kausar. The incident came to light after the boy reportedly complained of ill health.
The complainant, who is the boy’s uncle, was informed over the phone that his nephew was unwell. He took the boy to a hospital for treatment. After bringing him home, the complainant noticed that the boy was experiencing body pain and decided to massage him.
When the boy’s clothes were removed, the complainant allegedly noticed multiple marks on his body that appeared to have been caused by a pipe. On being questioned, the boy reportedly told his uncle that the accused madrasa teacher had beaten him with a pipe.
The injured boy was subsequently treated at Mayo Hospital in Nagpur.
Based on the complaint, Yashodhara Nagar Police registered a case under Section 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, relating to cruelty to a child.
Police are conducting further investigation into the incident.
