Nagpur: Wathoda Police have registered a case against a 30-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting two minor boys, aged six and 11, after taking them to a bathroom near a mosque in Raut Nagar on Wednesday.

The accused has been identified as Ashfaque Hafiz Sheikh (30), a resident of Raut Nagar. Police said he has no previous criminal record..

According to the complaint filed by the mother of the victims, that her minor sons were playing in front of a mosque in the locality on September 16. The accused allegedly called both children to him and took them to a bathroom at the spot.

Police said the accused allegedly subjected both boys to an unnatural sexual act. The incident came to light following which the children’s mother approached the police and lodged a complaint.

Based on the complaint, Wathoda Police registered a case under Sections 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.

Police are investigating the allegations and further legal action is underway.
