Nagpur: An unidentified man, aged between 30 and 35 years, died after being hit by a train near the Kamptee railway track under New Kamptee police station limits on Sunday afternoon.
The incident came to light around 2 pm on January 11, 2026, between railway poles No. 1113/14 and 1113/16, where the man was found unconscious in the grass beside the track. He was rushed to the Sub-District Hospital in Kamptee, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The deceased is described as fair-complexioned, medium-built, with a round face. He was wearing a white-grey printed shirt and green full pants. A tattoo of the English letter ‘A’ was found near the thumb of his left hand, and he was wearing a necklace.
Based on information provided by railway manager Duwai Wasnik (39), New Kamptee police registered an accidental death case. Police have appealed to the public to contact New Kamptee police station if they have any information regarding the deceased. Further investigation is underway.
