Gold Jewellery Worth Rs 2.18 Lakh Stolen from Wedding Guest’s Hotel Room in Rana Pratap Nagar

Nagpur: Rana Pratap Nagar police have registered a case against an unknown thief for stealing gold jewellery worth Rs 2.18 lakh from a hotel room within their jurisdiction. The theft occurred between January 1 and January 5, 2026, during a wedding function.


The complainant, Jyoti Rajendra Hivale (61), a resident of Ambarnath West in Thane district, was staying at Room No. 106 of Arjuna Celebration Hall while attending a relative’s wedding. During this period, she had also attended a music programme at Tuli Imperial.


Taking advantage of an unlocked room door, an unidentified person allegedly entered the room and decamped with gold ornaments kept in the bags belonging to the complainant and her relatives.


Based on the complaint filed on January 10, Rana Pratap Nagar police registered an offence under Section 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is in progress.
