Traffic curbs on CA Road for Eid-e-Milad procession today

Nagpur: THE city traffic police have announced extensive traffic diversions and restrictions across Central Avenue Road and adjoining areas in view of the Eid-e-Milad procession to be organised by the Markazi Sirat-un-Nabi Committee on August 26.

Aditya Mirkhelkar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic), has issued a notification stating that the restrictions will remain in force from 6 am until the conclusion of the procession. To prevent congestion and ensure smooth movement of traffic, entry of all heavy vehicles into the city will be prohibited during the period. Such vehicles have been directed to use the Outer Ring Road.

The procession will commence from the pandal in front of Mirfaiz Masjid and pass through Sevasadan Chowk, Geetanjali Chowk, Dosar Bhavan Chowk, Bhagwaghar Chowk, Mominpura Chowk, Timki Chowk, Golibar Chowk, Ganjakhet Chowk, Teen Nal Chowk, Shaheed Chowk, Old Motor Stand Chowk, Bagdadi Chowk, Satranjipura Ghas Bazaar, Quetta Colony Chowk, Telephone Exchange Chowk, Chandrashekhar Azad Chowk, Darodkar Chowk, Gandhi Putla Chowk, Bhavsar Chowk and Sona Jaystambh Chowk.

Police have completely prohibited vehicular movement on Central Avenue Road between Ram Jhula near Railway Station and Telephone Exchange Chowk during the procession.

Traffic travelling from Telephone Exchange and Darodkar Chowk towards Agrasen Chowk will be diverted via Chapru Chowk and Gangabai Ghat. Vehicles moving from Jaystambh Chowk towards Mayo Hospital through Ram Jhula will be diverted via Manas Chowk and Loha Pul towards Cotton Market.

Similarly, traffic from Chitnis Park towards Agrasen Chowk will be routed through Badkas Chowk and Maulana Natik Chowk, while vehicles travelling from Kamal Chowk towards Golibar Chowk will be diverted via Panchpaoli First Gate and Vaishali Nagar.

Traffic heading towards Satranjipura Chhoti Masjid, Maskasath and Nehru Putla will be diverted through Marwadi Chowk.

Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and use the designated alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
