Daylight Burglary in Nagpur’s Jaripatka: Gold and Silver Jewellery Worth Rs 3.92 Lakh Stolen

Nagpur: A daylight burglary in the Misal Layout area under Jaripatka Police Station has raised concerns over security in the locality after an unidentified thief allegedly broke into a locked house and escaped with gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 3.92 lakh.


According to the complaint, Kayyum Shah Ayum Shah (61), a resident of Misal Layout, Jaripatka, had locked his house and left for work on August 24. He was away between around 11 am and 7.30 pm.


During this period, an unidentified burglar allegedly broke the lock of the main door and entered the house. The thief then reportedly broke into or accessed an iron cupboard in the bedroom and stole gold and silver ornaments kept inside before fleeing.


Following a complaint lodged by Shah, Jaripatka Police registered a case against an unidentified accused.


Assistant Police Inspector Kapil Mhaskey is conducting the further investigation. Police are currently working to identify and trace the burglar.
