Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Wing of the Nagpur Crime Branch raided Nimbus Lounge in Gokulpeth during the early hours of Tuesday and uncovered an alleged illegal hookah parlour operation.

Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the lounge located at Laxmikrupa Apartment on NB Road, opposite Venus Book Depot in Gokulpeth. During the raid, lounge owner Sheikh Sameer Sheikh Vakil Ahmed (32), a resident of Gittikhadan, was allegedly found supplying banned tobacco-based hookah to 10 customers through three waiters.

Police said their investigation revealed that the accused was operating the hookah parlour illegally without the required permission.

The Crime Branch seized hookah pots, flavoured tobacco and other material worth approximately Rs 13,870 from the premises.

A case has been registered against the lounge owner, three waiters and 10 customers. The accused were handed over to Ambazari Police for further investigation.
