Nagpur: A thief broke into a mobile shop by smashing through its ceiling before targeting the adjoining beer shop, making away with smartphones, cash, mobile accessories and a beer crate collectively worth ₹6.24 lakh in Ganeshpeth area of Nagpur.
The incident occurred between 1 am and 9 am on July 21, when the unidentified accused entered the mobile shop owned by Kamal Girdhari Rawlani (29) by breaking the ceiling. The thief allegedly stole six smartphones, including two iPhones, two Vivo handsets, one Samsung phone and one Redmi 14C, along with mobile accessories, ₹65,000 in cash and other valuables worth ₹6.06 lakh.
After ransacking the mobile shop, the accused also entered the adjacent Shalimar Beer Shop and allegedly stole a beer crate and other items worth ₹18,000, taking the total value of the stolen property to ₹6.24 lakh.
Ganeshpeth Police have registered a case against an unidentified accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police are scanning CCTV footage and collecting other evidence to trace the accused.
