Nagpur: Unidentified burglars broke into a wine shop near Vasudev Nagar Metro Station on Monday night and decamped with premium liquor bottles, including Black Dog, Jameson, Dewar’s and Johnnie Walker Black Label, along with ₹25,000 in cash. The total value of the stolen property is estimated at ₹38,350.

According to the MIDC Police, the complainant, Ajay Khushalrao Wakde (42), manager of Akola Wine Mart located near Vasudev Nagar Metro Station, locked the shop and left for home at around 10.30 pm on July 20. When he returned at around 7 am on July 21, he found that unidentified thieves had broken the shutter lock and entered the premises.

The burglars allegedly stole one 750 ml bottle each of Black Dog (₹3,400), Jameson (₹2,400), Dewar’s (₹2,400) and Johnnie Walker Black Label (₹4,250). They also fled with ₹25,000 in cashkept inside the shop.

The total value of the stolen liquor and cash has been estimated at ₹38,350.

Based on Wakde’s complaint, MIDC Police have registered a case against unidentified accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) pertaining to house-breaking and theft. Police are examining CCTV footage from the area and investigating the burglary to identify the culprits.
