Nagpur: A reckless truck driver caused a fatal accident at Gokul Dairy Chowk in Kalamna, leading to the death of a 17-year-old youth and serious injuries to another. The accident occurred around 12:45 AM on Tuesday, February 4, when the victims were riding a Honda Shine motorcycle (MH-49 BV-3665).

The deceased, identified as Ayush Pritam Avchat (17), a resident of Subhash Maidan, Bhandara Road, Pardi, was riding with his friend Aman Jagdish Mankar (21), also from Pardi. A speeding and negligent tipper truck (MH-36 AB-2907) driven by accused collided with their bike, critically injuring both riders. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident.

Ayush was rushed to Mayo Hospital and later shifted to Ayushman Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Aman Mankar is undergoing treatment at Medical Hospital.

Following a complaint by Prashant Chandrabhan Avchat (50), the victim’s uncle, Kalamna Policeregistered a case against the absconding truck driver under Sections 281, 106(1), and 125(B) of the BNS, along with Sections 134 and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Police are investigating further to track down the accused driver.
