Nagpur: In a shocking act of cruelty, an unidentified miscreant pierced an iron rod straight into the head of a stray dog in Nagpur. The disturbing incident occurred around 1:30 pm on Wednesday in the Narharinagar and Shubhanginagar area on the Manewada-Besa Road. The injured dog was seen running in panic with the rod lodged in its skull, prompting outrage from local residents and animal lovers.

The animal rescue organization Save Speechless immediately responded after receiving information about the incident. Founder Smita Mire, along with her team, rushed to the location and managed to safely capture the injured dog. It is currently undergoing medical treatment, and preparations are underway to file a formal police complaint against the unidentified culprit.

This is not an isolated case of cruelty. In a recent incident in Sugatnagar, another stray dog was lured with biscuits and then brutally beaten with a stick, resulting in broken bones. A police complaint had also been registered in that case.

Frequent attacks on stray animals have sparked growing concern and anger among animal welfare groups in the city. Activists are demanding stricter enforcement of animal protection laws and swift action against the perpetrators of such inhumane acts.

Authorities have been urged to take immediate steps to identify and punish those responsible for these acts of brutality.
