Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off, Kapil Nagar Police apprehended three from Madhya Pradesh in possession of Mephedrone (MD) powder and seized a white Hyundai i20 car along with mobile phones and drugs worth over ₹10.07 lakh. The accused were nabbed near the road leading from Power Grid Chowk to Gujar Lawn between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm on June 18.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Priyanshu Anil Shukla (23), resident of Khajri, District Chhindwara (M.P.), Ansh Birendra Puriya (22), resident of SRTU Colony, Chhindwara (M.P.) and Abhishek Ashok Bhavarkar (25), resident of Chaman Mohalla, Plot No. 9, Guraya, Chhindwara (M.P.).
A search in the presence of witnesses revealed 4.25 grams of MD powder (estimated worth ₹42,500), four mobile phones, and the car used in the transport. Police registered a case under Sections 8(c), 22(b), and 29 of the NDPS Act, and all three accused were taken into custody.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Rajendra Dabhade (Additional CP - North), Niketan Kadam (DCP Zone 5), and ACP Satyavir Bandiwar (Jaripatka Division), and executed by PI Satish Aade and his team including PSI Yogesh Nalte, constables Shahzad Sheikh, Sanjay, Nilesh, Baljit, Ritesh, and Manoj.
