Nagpur: In two separate incidents in Mankapur, burglars broke into locked flats and decamped with cash and jewellery worth ₹5.81 lakh here, on June 18, Wednesday.

In the first case, Ashish Narmada Sharma (40), a resident of Flat No. 301, Skyline Vista, Jaydurga Nagar, left home for work along with his wife. During their absence, unidentified thieves broke open the main door and stole ₹12,000 in cash and gold-silver ornaments worth ₹3.4 lakh.

In the second incident, Sharad Satyamurthy Nair (48) of Flat No. 301, Gokul Apartment, Gayatri Nagar, returned to find his home burgled. The thieves made away with ₹70,000 in cash and ornaments worth ₹2.41 lakh.

An FIR under Sections 305(a) and 331(3) of the BNS has been registered at Mankapur Police Station. Further investigation is underway.
