Nagpur: After captivating dance enthusiasts in Nagpur for seven consecutive years, Yash Tumane is now set to take his signature “Yashiv Garba” to an international audience in Dubai.

Known for creating the city’s first-ever Dakla Night and for conducting popular Garba workshops in Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, Tumane is ready to share his high-energy Gujarati folk dance sessions with the UAE.

The Dubai debut will be held on September 19 and 20 at SVARG The Dance Space, Titanium Tower (SBK), Burjuman, near Park Regis Hotel, Al Karama. Sessions will continue on September 20 and 21 at Dance Central Dubai, Platinum Business Centre, Al Nahda 2.

Tumane said his easy-to-follow technique allows both dancers and non-dancers to enjoy Garba, making it accessible to everyone. “The Dubai dream was manifested last year. After a year of preparation and hard work, it’s finally becoming a reality,” he added.

Garba, a vibrant folk dance from Gujarat, is traditionally performed during the nine nights of Navratri to honour Goddess Durga.

Over the years, Garba has evolved beyond religious festivities to become a celebrated cultural and fitness activity worldwide. Its lively beats, colourful costumes, and rhythmic claps make it appealing to people of all ages and backgrounds.

By taking Yashiv Garba to Dubai, Tumane hopes to introduce this centuries-old tradition to a wider global audience, blending classic steps with modern choreography while preserving its devotional essence. His workshops aim to create a festive community atmosphere where participants can experience the joy and energy of authentic Garba, whether they are seasoned dancers or complete beginners.
