Nagpur: Imamwada Police have registered a case against three people, including a 26-year-old woman’s husband, for allegedly assaulting her after she confronted him about his whereabouts.
According to the police, the incident took place around 6.30 pm on September 29 near the residence of the accused in the TB Ward Quarters area under Imamwada police station.
The complainant, Ritika (26), a homemaker from the Gangabai Ghat area, reportedly went to the spot to take her husband, Vipul (26), home as he had not returned.
Police said Vipul allegedly has a drinking habit and often stays at the house of his friend, Parvesh Bahote (30), while intoxicated.
When Ritika met her husband and questioned him about where he had been the previous day, he allegedly assaulted her. He reportedly pulled her hair, slammed her head against the ground and hit her on the head with a stone, causing injuries.
The police report further states that Parvesh Bahote and Mahima Bahote (28) allegedly joined the assault and beat Ritika with fists and hands.
The injured woman was subsequently treated at Government Medical College and Hospital (Medical Hospital), Nagpur.
Imamwada Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 118(1), 115(2) and 3(5). Further investigation is underway.
