Nagpur: Kapil Nagar Police have registered a case against a 40-year-old employee of a Nagpur-based realty firm for allegedly cheating his employer of ₹3.5 lakh by submitting fake and fabricated documents.
The accused has been identified as Nikhil Narendra Atol (40), a resident of Trimurti Nagar, Lohande Nagar, Nagpur.
According to the complaint filed by Dhammadip Pravin Khobragade (30), a resident of Ran City, the complainant operates a firm named Unity Realities, which undertakes various projects at different locations.
Police said Atol was employed with the firm. Between July 22 and August 15, 2026, he allegedly submitted forged and false documents to the company and obtained ₹3.5 lakh on the pretext of carrying out various works.
However, the accused allegedly did not undertake any of the promised work despite receiving the money. The complainant alleged that Atol misused the funds and breached the trust placed in him, causing financial loss to the firm.
Based on the complaint, Kapil Nagar Police registered the case on September 1 at around 10.38 pm.
Police have invoked relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 318(4), 336(3), 340(2) and 319.
Further investigation is underway.
