Nagpur: Ahead of the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival, the Department of Posts has appealed to citizens to book their Rakhi consignments well in advance to ensure timely delivery across India and abroad. To facilitate this, a 24x7 booking facility has been made available at the National Sorting Hub (NSH) booking counter at Zero Mile, Nagpur.

The postal department said customers can choose from a range of reliable and affordable postal services to send Rakhis, gifts, sweets, clothes, and other festive items to their loved ones.

For domestic deliveries, the Domestic Parcel Service is available for safely transporting gifts and other items, while Speed Post ensures the timely delivery of Rakhis and important documents. Customers wishing to send Rakhis and gifts to relatives and friends living overseas can use the International Mail and International Parcel Services. Parcel packaging facilities are also available at post offices.

To manage the expected surge in festive consignments, a dedicated Rakhi booking counter has also been set up at the Zero Mile NSH booking centre. The postal department has made special arrangements to handle the increased volume of mail and parcels during the festive season.

Ganesh B. Ambhore, Superintendent, Railway Mail Services (RMS), Nagpur, urged customers to pack their parcels properly, mention the complete and accurate address along with the correct PIN code, and avoid last-minute rush by booking Rakhi consignments well in advance.

Customers can also avail themselves of the online tracking facility for eligible postal services to monitor their shipments.

The Railway Mail Services, Nagpur, has encouraged citizens to make use of India Post’s services to ensure that their Rakhis, gifts, and festive greetings reach their loved ones safely and on time.
