Nagpur MLC By-Election 2026: Administration Ready for Polling in Local Authorities Constituency; 836 Voters to Cast Votes Across 14 Centres

Nagpur: The administration has completed preparations for the Nagpur Local Authorities Constituency Legislative Council (MLC) by-election, with polling scheduled to be held on June 18, 2026. District Election Officer and Nagpur Collector Kumar Ashirwad said all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure smooth and peaceful voting across the district.


According to the election administration, a total of 836 voters are eligible to participate in the by-election, including 419 male voters and 417 female voters. Voting will take place at 14 designated polling centres across Nagpur district.


Polling for the by-election will be conducted on Thursday, June 18, from 8 am to 4 pm, while counting of votes will take place on June 22, 2026.


The district administration has stated that strict monitoring and security arrangements are in place to prevent any untoward incidents during the election process.


The polling centres have been allocated according to local authority jurisdictions. Voters from Narkhed and Mowad Municipal Councils will vote at Narkhed Tehsil Office, while voters from Katol Municipal Council and Kondhali Nagar Panchayat will vote at Katol Tehsil Office.


Similarly, voters from Kalmeshwar-Bramhani Municipal Council and Mohpa Municipal Council will cast their votes at Kalmeshwar Tehsil Office, and voters from Savner and Khapa Municipal Councilswill vote at Savner Tehsil Office.


Additional polling arrangements include Parseoni Tehsil Office for Parseoni Nagar Panchayat voters; Kanhan-Pimpri Municipal Council for voters from Kanhan-Pimpri and Kandri Nagar Panchayat; Ramtek Tehsil Office for Ramtek Municipal Council voters; and Mauda Tehsil Office for Mauda Nagar Panchayat voters.


Voters from Kamthi Municipal Council, Mahadula Nagar Panchayat, Yerkheda Nagar Panchayat, Bidgaon Nagar Panchayat, Godhani Nagar Panchayat, Bahadura-Yerkheda Nagar Panchayat, and Kamptee Cantonment Board will cast their votes at Kamthi Tehsil Office.


For urban areas, Nagpur City Tehsil Office has been designated for Nagpur Municipal Corporation voters, while Wanadongri Municipal Council will host voting for voters from Wanadongri, Wadi, Nildoh, Digdoh and Hingna local bodies. Voters from Butibori Municipal Council and Besa-Pimpala Nagar Panchayat will vote at Butibori Municipal Council office.


Meanwhile, Umred Tehsil Office has been designated for voters from Umred Municipal Council, Kuhi Nagar Panchayat and Bhiwapur Nagar Panchayat.


The administration has also prepared a strong room at Bachat Bhavan, Collectorate Office, Nagpur, where ballot boxes will be securely stored after polling. The same venue will host the vote counting process on June 22.


Officials have appealed to all eligible voters to participate in the democratic process and exercise their voting rights peacefully.
