Nagpur: Unit No. 02 of the Crime Branch, Nagpur City, has cracked a theft case registered at Sadar Police Station and arrested one accused while recovering stolen valuables worth over ₹5 lakh.
According to police, the case was registered at Sadar Police Station under Crime No. 279/26 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Acting on technical investigation and analysis of CCTV footage, the Crime Branch conducted a parallel probe and traced the accused.
The arrested accused has been identified as Jain Ali Rizwan Ali Bandali (28), a resident of Rajura, Chandrapur district, currently staying at Plot No. 159, Durga Layout, Narendra Nagar Chowk, Nagpur.
During the operation, police seized stolen property and other articles collectively valued at ₹5.05 lakh, including:
- A 37-gram gold necklace worth approximately ₹4.50 lakh
- A Zest moped (MH31FD3607) worth around ₹35,000
- A mobile phone worth approximately ₹20,000
Police said that during questioning, the accused allegedly confessed to committing the offence. After confirming his involvement, the recovered property was seized.
The accused was medically examined and later handed over to Sadar Police Station along with the recovered property for further legal action.
The operation was carried out by Unit No. 02 of the Crime Branch, Nagpur City.
