Burglars Decamp With Cash, Jewellery and Watches Worth Rs 3.44 Lakh From Sakkardara Home in Nagpur

Nagpur: A major house burglary was reported under the Sakkardara Police Station limits after unidentified thieves allegedly broke into a locked residence and stole cash, jewellery and wristwatches worth Rs 3.44 lakh.


According to police, complainant Pramod Rukhbasao Bhusari (64), a resident of Vidarbha Housing Board Colony on Ridge Road in Raghuji Nagar, had locked his house and travelled to Panvel with his family. Taking advantage of the house being unoccupied, two unidentified persons allegedly entered the premises between 1.30 am and 3 am on June 13.


The accused reportedly gained entry by breaking open the rear door of the house. They then entered a bedroom and stole Rs 70,000 in cash, gold and silver ornaments, and 20 wristwatches.


Based on the complaint, Sakkardara Police have registered a case against unknown accused under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is being conducted by Sub-Inspector Sachin Funde.

Police have launched a search operation to identify and apprehend the culprits.
