Nagpur: In a late-night operation on June 6, Nagpur's Crime Branch Unit 5 apprehended 20-year-old Shakti Prakash Shinde from Gaurishankar Nagar for illegal possession of deadly weapons.

Acting on a tip-off during routine patrolling near Shiv Temple, police recovered an iron sword, knife with plastic cover, two spears (one with wooden handle and another with metal handle) worth ₹1,400 from his residence in a surprise raid conducted with witnesses present.

The accused has been booked under Section 4/25 of Arms Act and Section 135 of Maharashtra Police Act for violating weapon prohibition orders. All seized items and the accused have been transferred to Kalmana Police Station for further investigation into potential criminal networks.

The operation was conducted under the leadership of Nagpur Police Commissioner Ravindrakumar Singal, with Deputy Commissioner Navinchandra Reddy and Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi overseeing the action. This arrest highlights Nagpur Police's continued crackdown on illegal arms and preventive policing measures to maintain public safety.
