Nagpur: Burglary in Sandesh City, Jamtha, Thieves Flee with ₹5.13 Lakh Worth of Valuables While Family Slept Upstairs

Nagpur: In a major burglary incident reported under the Hingna Police Station limits, thieves broke into a house in Sandesh City, Jamtha, and escaped with cash and valuables worth approximately ₹5.13 lakh while the family slept upstairs.


The incident took place between 11:30 pm on June 20 and 6:30 am on June 21. According to the FIR, complainant Sunil Omprakash Dwivedi (41) and his family were asleep in the bedroom on the first floor of their residence when the unidentified burglar(s) broke open the latch of the rear kitchen door on the ground floor and gained entry into the house.


Once inside, the thieves accessed the bedroom on the ground floor and looted ₹1.25 lakh in cash, along with gold jewellery and a wristwatch, all valued at ₹5.13 lakh.


Based on Dwivedi’s complaint, Hingna Police have registered a case against an unknown accused under Sections 305(a) and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is being led by police, and further efforts are underway to identify the culprits through surveillance footage and forensic clues.
