Nagpur: Imamwada police have registered a case against a 41-year-old man for allegedly circulating child sexual abuse material through electronic platforms while using a false identity.

The accused has been identified as Ronit Ramrake, alias Nitesh Shankarrao Shende, police said.

According to the complaint, the case was initiated following a CyberTipline report received on May 6, 2026, through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The report was based on information shared by an electronic service provider and allegedly flagged the circulation of sexually explicit material involving a child.

Police said the accused allegedly used a false name while sharing the material through electronic media.

Police Sub-Inspector Maruti Ganati Powar of Imamwada Police Station lodged the complaint, following which a case was registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Information Technology Act.

Further investigation is underway to establish the details of the alleged online activity.
