Nagpur: Nandanvan Police arrested a 38-year-old man for allegedly carrying a sharp weapon in public with suspected intent to commit a crime.
The incident took place on April 13, 2026, around 10:00 pm when a police patrol team received information about a suspicious youth roaming with a weapon at Hasanbagh Chandni Chowk. Upon reaching the spot, police identified the suspect, who attempted to flee but was chased and apprehended.
The accused has been identified as Sheikh Faheem Sheikh Aziz (38), a resident of Hasanbagh. During a search conducted in the presence of witnesses, police recovered a sharp iron knife concealed in his waistband. The seized weapon is valued at Rs 500.
Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Maharashtra Police Act for possession of a weapon with intent to commit a cognizable offence and for violating prohibitory orders. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is ongoing.
