Nagpur: A 68-year-old man sustained serious injuries after being struck by a speeding car on Nagpur–Amravati Road near Lax Hospital, within the jurisdiction of Wadi Police Station.
The incident occurred around 5:10 PM when the victim, identified as Vasudev Laxman Gomase, resident of Plot No. 70, Raghupati Nagar, was crossing the road on foot. A white car, bearing registration number MH 31 FU 9823, allegedly driven at high speed in a rash and negligent manner, hit him forcefully, causing him to fall and suffer severe injuries.
The accused driver transported the injured man to Lax Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Police have recorded the victim’s statement and registered a case at Wadi Police Station under Sections 281, 125(A), and 125(B) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Further inquiries into the driver’s conduct and circumstances of the accident are ongoing.
