Nagpur: A major burglary was reported in Ujwal Nagar, Rahate Colony, where unidentified thieves broke into a locked flat and escaped with valuables worth ₹18,46,000.
According to the complaint, Narayan Chandrashekhar Fadnavis (63), resident of Flat No. B/203–204, had locked his home and travelled to Indore with his family between February 28 at 9:30 AM and March 1 at 12:20 PM. During this period, unknown burglars broke the flat’s latch and lock, entered the bedroom, and forced open three metal cupboards and two wooden cupboards.
The stolen property includes ₹4,50,000 in cash, various gold ornaments, silver coins, other jewellery items and miscellaneous valuables. The total loss has been estimated at ₹18.46 lakh. Police have registered a case at Bajajnagar Police Station under Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on the complaint provided by the victim.
Police teams have initiated efforts to identify the culprits and recover the stolen property.
