Nagpur: An accidental death case has been registered by Sitabuldi Police in Nagpur after a 66-year-old man died following a fall from a tree while plucking bael fruit.
According to police officials, the deceased, identified as Moreshwar Bhagwanji Yelne (66), a resident of Plot No. 13, Sudarshan Nagar, Rajapeth, Hudkeshwar, Nagpur, was employed as a driver by Atul Doshi, a resident of Ramdaspeth, Nagpur.
The incident occurred around 12:30 PM on May 11, 2026, at Plot No. 30, behind Canal Road, New Ramdaspeth, Nagpur. Police said Moreshwar Yelne had climbed a bael tree located at his employer’s residence to pluck fruits when he reportedly lost balance and fell from the tree.
He sustained serious injuries in the fall and was immediately rushed to KRIMS Kingsway Hospital for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead during medical treatment.
Based on information provided by the deceased’s son, Ashish Moreshwar Yelne (38), Sitabuldi Police Sub-Inspector P.N. Bhaval registered a case of accidental death.
Police said further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
