Nagpur: The Winter Session of the Maharashtra Legislature is set to commence in Nagpur on December 16. In preparation for the session, Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidri on Wednesday, December 11, directed authorities to complete all necessary arrangements at the legislative complex and surrounding areas without delay.
Bidri inspected arrangements at the Vidhan Bhavan, Hyderabad House, and Ravi Bhavan. She instructed officials from various departments, including Public Works and Electricity, to coordinate efforts and ensure the completion of all arrangements by December 12. Emphasizing the importance of cleanliness, she urged that sanitation in these areas be prioritized.
Officials present during the inspection included District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad Vinayak Mahamuni, Legislative Secretariat Officer Mr. Pajare, Public Works Department Executive Engineer Abhijit Kuchewar, Sub-Divisional Engineer Sanjay Upadhye, Electrical Sub-Divisional Engineer Mr. Mankar, Branch Engineer Sandeep Chaple, and Ravi Bhavan Officer Rahul Thakur.
During the visit, Bidri reviewed seating arrangements in the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council halls, inspected the newly installed multimedia conference systems, and examined facilities such as party offices, dining areas, and other amenities. She emphasized the immediate implementation of security measures suggested by the Police Department. Additionally, she announced the creation of three “Hirkani Rooms” at the Vidhan Bhavan, MLA residences, and Ravi Bhavan, ensuring they are equipped with essential facilities.
At Hyderabad House, provisions have been made for the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, the Chief Secretary’s Office, and various ministerial departments. These offices will be equipped with meeting rooms and other necessary facilities. At Ravi Bhavan, arrangements have been made for the residences and offices of the Speaker, Chairman, Deputy Speaker, Leader of the Opposition, and other ministers.

All arrangements made by the district administration for the Winter Session will be accessible through a dedicated mobile app. District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar stated that help desks would be set up at the railway station and airport to assist visiting members and guests with information about session-related arrangements.
The preparations are in their final stages and are expected to be completed in the next two days. A booklet detailing accommodation arrangements by the Public Works Department has been prepared, and information about all facilities will be available via QR codes. A Google Map-based location guide has also been developed, enabling visitors and drivers to access complete details through QR codes. Additionally, a system has been established to receive complaints about any deficiencies or issues in the arrangements through the QR codes.
