Cash and Gold Worth ₹8.65 Lakh Stolen in Burglary in Sakkardara, Nagpur

Nagpur: Unidentified thieves broke into a locked house in Thakur Plot, Teacher’s Colony under Sakkardara Police limits, and decamped with valuables worth ₹8.65 lakh, including cash and gold ornaments.


According to the complaint by Sheikh Irfan Sheikh Mehbub (32), the incident occurred between 10:30 p.m. on June 5 and 6:00 a.m. on June 6, while he and his family were away at his elder sister’s residence. The burglars allegedly broke the main door lock and latch, entered the bedroom, and stole ₹1,00,000 in cash along with gold and silver ornaments.


A case under Sections 305 and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, has been registered at Sakkardara Police Station by PSI Sanjaysingh. Police are examining CCTV footage and gathering clues to identify the culprits. The investigation is ongoing.
