Burglary in Wathoda as Gold and Silver Jewellery Stolen After Housewarming Party

Nagpur: Wathoda Police have registered a burglary case against an unidentified accused after cash and jewellery worth over ₹2.41 lakh were stolen from a residence in the Wathoda area.


According to police, the incident took place between 1:30 am and 9:00 am on June 18 at Plot No. 62, Chaitanyeshwar Nagar, near Sheetla Mata Mandir, Wathoda, Nagpur.


Complainant Sharad Kisan Ninave (36) had completed the housewarming ceremony (Vastu Pujan) of his new house and was sleeping with family members in the ground-floor hall. During the night, an unidentified burglar allegedly entered the house by opening the bedroom door on the upper floor.


The accused reportedly broke open the lock of an iron cupboard inside the bedroom and stole cash worth ₹2,500 kept inside gift envelopes along with various gold and silver ornaments, taking away valuables collectively valued at ₹2,41,500.


Based on the complaint, PSI Prakash Morya of Wathoda Police Station registered a case against the unidentified accused under Sections 305(A) and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).


Police have launched a search operation and further investigation is underway.
