Nagpur: Hudkeshwar Police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against a 38-year-old man for allegedly filming a minor girl while she was changing clothes, threatening to make the video viral, and repeatedly raping her over nearly 18 months.

The accused has been identified as Mahesh Premdas Malkhede (38), a native of Mendhala in Narkhed taluka and currently residing near Sudhakar Kohale’s house behind Union Bank in the Hudkeshwar area.

According to police, the accused’s wife runs a Bachat Gat. The survivor’s mother had availed a loan through the savings group, bringing the family in contact with the accused. The survivor would occasionally visit the accused’s house to deposit savings group collections.

Police said that after the accused’s wife fell ill, the survivor and her mother looked after her at a hospital. The survivor also visited the accused’s residence on several occasions to help with household work.

During one such visit, the accused allegedly recorded a video of the minor while she was changing clothes. He then allegedly threatened to circulate the video on social media and used it to repeatedly force the girl to visit his house, where he allegedly raped her against her will despite knowing she was a minor.

The alleged incidents took place between September 2024 and July 2026. Irked over constant harassment, the victim narrated her ordeal to her mother and approached Hudkeshwar police station.
